Quote-aroni and October Currently

October 2, 2013 By Ashley Schroeder

So after a year and 2 months of not having a bulletin board outside of my classroom – gasp! – I was told today that the abandoned bulletin board just down the hall a bit was all mine to decorate . . . well, I jumped (literally…ripped my skirt getting up and down on the stool :/) on the opportunity to be able to hang our macaroni quotes that we made yesterday! . . . Plus, since my bulletin boards inside of my classroom were finished while my chevron border was still on backorder, it’s my CTP chevron border’s debut!

Check them out!:

I love how they turned out 🙂 And my kiddos were ROCKING putting dialogue and quotations in their writing today!  Yay for having a little bit of my classroom outside of my classroom for the first time in 2 school years.  Oh Juniata Gap, how I miss you and all of your wall/bulletin board space <3
Also – it’s the first of October… which means a lot of things, actually.  Including:
1. My sister gets married this week.!! EEK!
2. I turn 30 next month.  what.
3. This is the THIRD month I’ve had 2nd graders 🙂
4. I’m still back to school exhausted despite #3. . . I’m talking rub-my-eyes-like-a-4-year-old-as-soon-as-I-get-in-my-car-after-my-normal-non-stop-14-hour-days tired.
5. And with that – it’s also time for October’s Currently link up with Farley! 🙂
Listening: Before my hubby left the room to study, he said, “what do you want on?”.  I said “something quiet”.  Whistling fans and annoying baseball chants and lingo is exactly what I had in mind . . .though it IS pittsburgh, so I’m good with it <3
Loving:  I can’t tell you how much I have loved connecting with so many teachers through blogs and instagram in these last few months.  I have made connections with people who don’t judge me for categorizing my stickers in chronological order, because they do, too! – I’ve made friends with new teaching teammates! (though my forever favorite teammate I still miss ridiculously every.  single.  day.<3) – and I have learned and been inspired SO so much.  I am, without a doubt,  a better teacher this year than I ever have been before 🙂  Thank you all !
Thinking:  seriously.  best husband ever.  I’ve hit the lottery in the lottery of awesome husbands.  he is just simply the best. 🙂
Wanting:  I don’t even think it’s acceptable to stop wanting a pumpkin spice latte at any point in time during October…or November… just sayin’.
Needing: I must fire up the Keurig and dominate this to-do list of mine.
At least it’s a festive list.  I spend so much time with it, it’s gotta be cute… Anyways… I usually have the safety net of my weekend to leave a couple of my weekly todos undone until the weekend, though it’s crunch time this week, because my sister is getting marriedddd this weekend!!!
Tricks aren’t my thing, so I went with treat: I try to make healthy decisions when it comes to eating but man oh man I can NOT get enough of peanutbutter toast crunch!! DELISH.  Some boxes are more peanutbuttery than others, too! YUM MO! <3
Oh, another treat, while I’m thinking about it? MY CLASS <3 I. ADORE. MY. CLASS 🙂 🙂 that is all.
Ok – off to coffee and plan until my eyes close.  Hope you all had a great first day of October!

Coffee at night? Does it keep you up. I am so grateful for my ig family as well. I LOVE PSL and every time I see a pic or hashtag PSL then I crave one.

I completely agree on the PSL . . .I HAVE to have it when I see it . . .or hear it. . . .or smell it! 🙂 And the coffee keeps me up JUST long enough past my bedtime to be more productive than my 9:00 bedtime allows 🙂

Lol, I used to think my Keurig saved me money since I wasn't wasting a whole pot of coffee. However, this time of year, I go through more of those little pods than I care to admit 😉 GL with your list– they never seem to end, do they? Happy October 🙂

I know, right?! Thank goodness Costco sells my favorite kinds in bulk! You can never have enough backup K-cups! Have a great day 🙂

I just found your blog and it is great! Love the macaroni quotes! I did a post about macaroni punctuation- and am good with everything but that darn question mark! Oh, the tough life of a teacher! I'd love you to stop over to my blog if you get a chance! 🙂
