Can we all agree that we are at that mid year point where our kids could use ALLLL of the review they can get?!

I’ve got a new pack of wintery word work and ELA goodies that I want to share with you today – Snow Many Words – that will be just the wintery practice and FUN that your kiddos need!

I’ve bundled it with some updated winter word work activities, too! These activities are perfect for small group, centers, review, differentiated practice, or even intervention groups!

My newly created Snow Many Words includes a variety of ELA activities for you to use in your first or second grade classroom. Here is a look at each set of activities in the pack:

The first activity in the pack is practicing synonyms and antonyms:

There is a set of 12 pairs of synonym cards as well as a set of 12 pairs of antonym cards. Students will need to sort each pair under the synonym or antonym header and record their pairs on their recording sheet. An additional printable practice page is included for reinforced practice, as well.

The next set is a little bit of vocabulary building with winter words!:

The kiddos can build oral vocabulary using these words in classroom discussion throughout the winter months AND practice putting them in alphabetical order using the activity in this pack. There is also an early finisher suggestion to use these winter vocabulary words in a winter story on the back of their paper! I always love to give my students the option to WRITE as often as I possibly can!

Next up MIGHT just be my most favorite activity cover ever 🙂 🙂 . I am – as you know if you’ve been following me for ANY period of tim – absolutely OBSESSED with Melonheadz clipart and this little winter bobble head cutie just MAKES this activity cover!!! I mean….seriously….

More than cute – this pack is PERFECT practice with parts of speech including nouns, verbs, and adjectives. My kiddos aren’t QUITE ready for adverbs yet, however, you can scoop up a few adverb practice packs {here – Adjectives and Adverbs with a Hollywood theme} or {here – Parts of Speech Palooza} in my store!

The parts of speech practice in this new winter word work set includes a set of 24 task cards (colorful and ink friendly printing options) as well as a response sheet for the students to record their answers for each task card. I love using task cards as SCOOT {read all about SCOOT and SCOOT JR here}

Next up in this new wintery word work pack are Context Clues!!

The kiddos will read 8 different context clue task cards and match each card to the vocabulary word that it describes. Lastly, they should write the vocabulary work on their response sheet!

The final set of activities in this wintery word work set is WORD BUILDING!!

I just LOVE using word building activities as a word work activity or even as a morning job! What I love to do when I create my word building activities is to NOT tell the kiddos the word that uses ALL of the tiles, but rather I let them figure that out!

The kiddos simply need cut out all of the tiles, build and record as many smaller words as they can, and then try to use ALL of the tiles to build {what I call} the WOW word!! All of the WOW words in this set are winter themed and – you’re welcome – I’ve included a key so that you know what all of the WOW words are!

Whew!! SNOW MANY WORDS, right?!?!? But that’s not all !! . . . .
