August 8, 2014 By Ashley Schroeder

Happy Friday, friends!! It’s time for my most FAVORITE linky of the week! Five for Friday with Doodlebugs Teaching!

Well! My shiny, new Math and ELA Workouts are printed, laminated and READY. TO. GO!! . .

My MATH Workout is full of practice and activities for back to school 2nd graders for the following skill practice: Money, Time, Skip Counting, Facts, and Place Value!
You can read IN DETAIL about my Math Workout on my blog {HERE} from earlier this week! There’s also a FREEBIE SAMPLE to my math workout, as well as an exclusive freebie on that post! You’ve gotta check it out to snag the freebie goodies!!

I also squeeze in a featured post of my ELA WORKOUT, this week, too which you can read in detail {HERE}!  The skills covered in this pack include ABC order, spelling and word building work, back to school writing prompts, parts of speech, and complete sentences!

After getting into my classroom and LOTS of time with the laminator – I’ve got a few more pictures of my ELA Workout to share with you too!

For much more detail about my newest pack – stop over to my blog post about it {HERE}!! 🙂
Mine are set and were SO easy to fill into my first week of plans with my new 2nd graders!!

Speaking of 2nd grade love  . . . . .
I’m kind of LOVING the front of my desk that I put together today!! I got SO many compliments and questions about it on Instagram and facebook yesterday!! Allow me to answer a few!
1 – The chevron is contact paper I got from TJ Maxx!
2 – The fonts I used are KG Wake me Up and MTP Jumpin’ Jack by Kevin and Amanda!
3 – I made each letter as large as a could to fill a single page – then I just cut, laminated, and put a magnet on the back of each one!
4 – The clip art is from Melonheadz and Ashley Hughes! All I did to make those large was I put one image on a page, then in print settings, I chose “poster”! Each piece of giant clip art on my desk was printed on two sheets of paper that I taped together, laminated, and mounted with magnets to finish off the cuteness of my desk!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE!! <3 I’m kind of obsessed with it!! 🙂

So as you see above, I’ve been getting down to the nitty gritty at school annnnnd I’ve gotten some things set up for Open House! If you’re like me, you can never have enough expo markers, clorox wipes, tissues…etc. to start the school year, right?! I’m so glad that we are able to ask our parents to donate a thing or two to our classroom community and I ask for those donations at Open House! This year, I’m asking them to “lend a hand!”

And GUESS WHAT!! It’s yours for free if you’d like it! Just click either image to snag it in my TPT store!

The parents can pick a hand off of my board on which I’ve written a variety of supplies and items that they can  choose to donate! Plus it looks cute, doesn’t it! Yay! So excited to meet my new kiddos!

Ok – raise your hand if you like the DOLLAR SPOT at Target.  ME ME ME !! Right?! Wellll what if I told you that you can snag some EQUALLY as exciting finds like you snag at the Dollar Spot from your FAVORITE teacher bloggers . . . that’s right . . .FOR ONE DOLLAR!!! NOW YOU CAN!! . .
I am SO thrilled to be teaming up with some fabulous TPT bloggers on this Teacher Deals and Dollar Steals Collaborate blog!!  HUGE shoutout to Amanda Wilp at The Primary Gal for her MAD organization skills for setting this all up! The dollar deals haven’t happened YET but our blog is LIVE annnnnd there’s a giveaway! You can head there NOW and enter to win! You’re definitely going to want to follow us while you’re there! Dollar Deals, people.  DOLLAR deals!!  – – click our button above to head there NOW! – –

And lastly – I love to leave you with a quote on my #5 for Five for Friday – starting in just 2 weeks from now, I’ll be back to sharing KID QUOTES with you all! I cannot WAIT to meet my kiddos.  But for now . . .  this.
I’ll just let that speak for itself as it speaks to me right now loudly and clearly. 🙂
I hope you all have a great weekend.  I’m off to celebrate one of my most best friends in the world as she gets married tomorrow <3  I hope your weekends are filled with smiles!

I saw similar contact paper at Target and I chickened out of doing it, I'm afraid mine will end up crooked. After seeing how fab yours looks I kind of want to try it now!

The desk looks fabulous! Thanks for teaching us the poster trick- I usually have my larger things printed at Staples. They just enlarge enough to fill an 11×17 sheet. Thanks!
