I keep a couple of the little notes my students write to me. When I have had a VERY BAD day, or monumental parent battle, I remind myself WHY I do this! So nice to be appreciated! Wendy 1stgradefireworks@gmail.com 1stgradefireworks

I am so proud of you.

My favorite moments are when students have ah-hah moments. It makes everything worth it. We do our job, not for ourselves, but for them.

You should feel proud! That is amazing that your administration takes the time to send notes like this! Keep up the great work and know you are making such a difference in these little lives! I think that too often teachers get wrapped up in everything and are perceived as too serious and not fun. I think that effective teaching/learning can take place while having fun! Nice work! That's awesome! Isn't it great when you get compliments? It seems to make the bad days not matter so much anymore.

I save my special notes in a binder and only look at them on especially rough day. They help me keep things in perspective!

Notes just like that. I wish I had kept them all. My former district had an online program and you could write positive referrals for students, not just negative ones. Well, parents could write positive referrals for teachers too. It was so awesome to get an email letting you know a parent had written a referral to your principal saying something nice about you!

Love hearing kids say that what we are doing is something they love or just them saying that they love school…that says a lot I think! We want our students to be happy and learning at the same time πŸ™‚

Loved your note! One of my math workshop students struggles in math. He was starting to give up. I noticed so I sat with him one day and told him about my experience as a student. I struggled as a kid. School was NOT easy and there were days I wanted to quit. Now I am a teacher and have my masters degree. He smiled and said Thank you! I told him YOU CANT GIVE UP. Then I busted out Jason Mraz's I won't give up and Pink's Try. Yes, I was rocking and singing! Today he took his math test and got 100%!!!! I am so proud that I almost cried. I love being a teacher!!!
