Spring Centers, a Freebie, and a Giveaway!

March 25, 2014 By Ashley Schroeder

Good morning friends! I wanted to drop by this morning to share a few of my newest pieces of SPRING that will be making their debut in my classroom this week and next. I always make my packs with upcoming lessons/seasons in mind, so you’ll have to stay tuned on my Facebook and IG pages for some action shots of my kiddos!

Last weekend, I had all of this super cute new clip art that I knew I wanted to use on a spring centers pack! Sunday, then,  turned into my marathon of doing just that!

I’m so thrilled about how they turned out, though, and what I love about them most – besides the darling clip art – is that they will be such a good “go to” every spring because they cover such a variety of those “easy to forget about” skills as well as the skills with which the kids inevitably need more practice!

I created two packs of centers last weekend.  I’ve bundled and listed them separately, so you can choose which pack of skills is best for your kiddos this spring! Click the image below to take a peek at the discounted bundle! 🙂

The math pack includes practice with:

counting coins and bills
making change from one dollar
graphing
telling time
Here is a closer look at the math centers! You can take a look at the Math pack in my store HERE.
Chick-Ching
This center is great practice for matching coins and bills to a given amount.  There are two sets to choose from to differentiate for your kids as needed!
Time for Spring
Students will match analog and digital clocks.  You will notice that nearly all of the activities in this bundle have a very colorful set as well as a more printer friendly set to help save that precious ink of yours ours!!

Graphing the Garden
This interactive graphing center can also be differentiated for your students.  One graph’s data can be collected using a spinner and a single die, and the other graph’s data can be collected with 2 dice for higher numbers.  The kids will graph what they find in the garden that they build!

And the final center shown in the picture above is Making Chirp Change! Students will read simple task card word problems and solve to find how much change they will get back from one dollar.  Some of the task cards are single step, while others are multi step problems to solve. Both of these activities can be used as a center, partner activity or even an independent task as you see fit in your classroom!

My SPRING ELA BUNDLE also includes 4 ELA centers!

You can take a look at the Spring ELA pack HERE!

The ELA centers practice the following skills – – –

Contractions
Homophones
Word Building
ABC Order

FIRST UP –

Crackin’ Contractions!
As I was printing these out this week and prepping them for my students to use, I came to the conclusion that they were way too cute to not share! Click the image below to take a closer look at Crackin’ Contractions for FREE in my TPT store!

The kiddos will CRACK the contractions into the two words that make them and record their contractions and contraction parts on the provided, broken egg, super cute recording sheet! There is a colorful version as well as one that is more ink friendly! 🙂

Let it be, Bee! – Homophones
We are getting ready to revisit homophones again this year, and my expectations from them to choose and use the correct homophone are a bit higher! What a better way to practice, reinforce, and assess than with SCOOT and an Anchor Chart! There is a colorful set of each as well as a more ink friendly version for you to choose which works best for you! 🙂

Additionally, there is a homophone practice page for you to use as an assessment tool or as an independent practice activity!

WINDerful Word Building
This ELA pack also includes a word building center with 5 Springtime vocabulary words whose letter tiles are allll scrambled for the kids to use to BUILD new words!  There is a recording sheet for the students to use when building their new words and an answer key for you for each set!

This set is also made in a colorful version as well as a black and white set for you to use as an independent or small group word work activity.

And LASTLY!

Ducks in a Row – ABC order!
I mean, how could any pack be complete, without some fabulous Melonheadz Illustrating clip art by Nikki?!? Get your ducks in a row, kids, and put those spring word in ABC order!

OH – anddd I would love to give a set of my SPRING ELA centers away!! Pin any image from this blog post, copy and paste your pin into the comments below, and leave your email!! 🙂 I’ll choose a winner tomorrow after school!

I’ll be back another day this week to take you on a tour of my *EGG*CELLENT Fractions and Place Value practice pack – but I thought I’d throw it in here today to remind you that it’s on sale for 50% off through this afternoon when I get home from school! 🙂 🙂 Hurry! Click the image below to take a closer look if you’re interested!

Happy Tuesday! 🙂 🙂
