Five for Friday, Name Calling, and a Giveaway!

March 14, 2014 By Ashley Schroeder

It’s Fridayyyy again!! I just heart Fridays.  Even when the week was interrupted by a glorious Snow Day 🙂
It’s time to link up for my favorite Five for Friday with Doodle Bugs Teaching!!
Holy.  Cannoli.  I’m going to Vegas this summer for the TPT Conference!! I could NOT be more excited nor could I be more looking forward to getting to meet SO many of YOU, the sweet friends and teaching teammates that have been beyond inspiring to me since I’ve started this crazy TPT/Blogging journey this fall! I heart you ALL and cannot wait to match your faces with your blog names and buttons in July!!! 🙂   Dixie, Marcy, and Angie. . . . are you ready?!?!?! <3

Soooo I’ve been name called this week.  I’ve been called the same name multiple times by some IG followers, actually.  I’ve been a little busy this week, and a bit on the productive side, annnnd it led to being name called a “machine”.  haha.  I’ll take it 🙂
I’m pretty proud of the handful of new and updated products that I accomplished this week!
We are going to be writing biographies and all about a hero in the weeks to come, so I prepared a few graphic organizers and writing papers to get us started, and I wanted to share them with you!
Click the image below to take a closer look in my TPT store! 🙂

My helping verbs pack, which has been at the top of my best seller list on and off for months, got a MAJOR make over yesterday! I’ve added new fonts and clip art as well as an ink friendly set of each resource AND an additional set of scoot cards with a higher level task for those kiddos that need the challenge!

Annnnd lastly, hello Pronoun Palooza!!!  For the next few weeks, we will be learning about pronouns, reflexive pronouns, and possessive pronouns, and I promise that this pack has it all! There are anchor charts, scoot galore, sorting practice pages, and a flip flap book for your students to learn and master pronouns! 🙂 Click on any of the images below to check it out in my store! 🙂

Yeahh, this WAS NOT how I had planned on spending my Sunday! – – – All of a sudden I realized that my computer battery was plummeting annnnd my computer was plugged in.  Hubby came home from Home Depot as I was trying to troubleshoot and my exact words to him were “Be warned.  I’m about to lose my marbles.”  haha.  I had been putting off backing up my computer for weeks, and I was in total meltdown mode as I watched NOTHING bring my computer back to life. …until, of course, the Genuis Bar did their magic, gave me a new charger, and sent me smiling on my way! WHEWWWW!!! Computer now works and chargers annnnd I didn’t lose a things.  Thankkkk goodness.  Oh, and YES, I backed up my computer the minute I got home.:)

Kid quote:
So I have a giant picture of my best friend and I on my desk – my best friend with whom I taught first grade with for 4 years in PA<3 before moving to Ohio in 2011.  After explaining to one of my kiddos that I used to teach with her before I moved away from home, that kiddo said “so what do you like better, Ohio or PA?!”.  Well as my heart shouted “PA” at me, one of my kiddos jumped into the conversation and said:
“Mrs. Schroeder, OHIO, right?!?! There’s coffee here!! You love coffee!!! So you have to love OHIO!!”
After I cracked up, I then explained that the lovely world of SHEETZZZ (home of the bestttt breakfast blend there is) was born in my home town!! AND that there is a Sheetz around every corner back home, too, this kiddo then decided that PA, in fact WAS way better for me hahah 🙂

I hope your Fridays are fabulous! 🙂

Can I suggest Carbonite for your backup needs? I have been using it for years, and love the piece of mind it brings. It automatically backs up your computer whenever it is connected to the internet. It is worth it!

Being called a "machine" is a good thing! It means you're efficient and create quality stuff 🙂

Whew! That was a close call. It's pretty neat that you've been able to save your computer in time, for you to be able to save and secure all the fragile data of importance. Kudos!
