Yayyyy it’s Friday! Not only is my favorite day of the week, but it’s time for my favorite linky of the week too! 🙂 🙂 So excited to be linking up again this week for my 5 randoms of the week with Doodlebugs Teaching!

 

Did you every have one of those moments when, DURING THE SCHOOL DAY, you decide that you have to veer from the plans and whip up an idea that pops into your head mid conversation with a kid?!? Well, that happened this week.  I was talking to a kiddo on Monday, and he very nicely told me that there are only 42 more days left of winter. !!!!!####$$%%%!!! . . . .He then suppressed my anger about winter by telling me that he figured it out by seeing a 7 by 6 array in his head.  He knew that the 6 more weeks by the 7 days in a week would tell him the total!  WELP . . .I told the kids to get out their flash cards to practice math facts as I whipped out this puppy and bam! Cute groundhog arrays now hang in our hallway for the remainder of winter.  There’s a part of my that wants to dislike this.  But they’re just too darn cute! 🙂

 

 

Speaking of winter . . . We had anotherrrrr snow day this week! Yayyyy for another day of productivity on the couch! I don’t know what it is about sweatpants and Kelly and Michael that lead to to do list domination! 🙂 (actually, I totally do know what it is. It’s the whole “I don’t have to teach today so I can actually get work done” thing. yay!) I was able to throw together a cute pack on cause and effect during my day off! Scene: taking lunch count near my classroom door overhearing a few kindergartners talking in the hallway.
Kid 1: I can’t find my folder!
Kid 2: Did you look in your book bag?
Kid 1: Yes! Maybe my dog ate it!! But, ya wanna know what’s funny? I don’t even have a dog!
my 2nd graders: quiet, contagious giggles lasting all morning
